Frequently Asked Questions

Below are just a few answers to some of our most frequently asked questions:

Q: How do we make payment for the cruises we book?

A: You can either reserve the seats on a scheduled cruise or book a private charter with a credit card or request to be billed and we will invoice you for the required payment due prior to departure. For any bookings within 7 days of a trip, credit card payment will be required. Other payment arrangements can be made, please enquire further at 0800 224 278.

Q: Do you provide the crew and provisions for private charters?

A: Yes. We can take care of everything including Skipper, crew and standard provisions such as tea/coffee/biscuits. If you require anything additional to satisfy the needs of your clientele such as fishing gear, tackle, bait, or food, arrangements can be made to customize the cruise for you.

Q: Do you allow bareboat charters?

A: No we do not allow bareboat charters. All our vessels must be skippered by certified skippers.

Q: What do we need to bring?

A: Please refer to Equipment under Fishing

Q: I get seasick, is there anything I can do?

A: Here are a few hints.

  • Have a good breakfast before you go out on the boat. Make sure it is something that is easy to digest....not meusli
  • Drink only half your normal cup of tea-don't drink coffee
  • If you must walk around go from leaning on some part of the boat to leaning on something else. Don't try to balance yourself
  • Look at the horizon or clouds, anything that is not moving
  • Snack on anything with ginger in it e.g. gingernuts, crystalised ginger, and sip on some ginger beer or ginger ale but don't drink much-definitely not coffee or alcohol
  • Take Travel-Med, a homeopathic remedy available from health shops and chemists. You spray it under your tongue and can take it every 10 minutes if you need to-works for me
  • Keep busy with fishing or take an interest in what is happening on the boat, ask the skipper if you can drive the boat.
